Ohio Dominican University PA Program Mission Statement

The mission of the Physician Assistant Studies at Ohio Dominican University (ODU) is to provide quality education and clinical skills to produce effective, well-qualified physician assistants to serve in a variety of medical specialty areas and settings. The Physician Assistant program grounds itself in high-level critical thinking and problem-based scenarios to provide the most reliable simulation to primary care experiences. The ODU PA program believes that the primary goal of medical training is service to humanity and, as such, holistically embraces the principle throughout the program. In keeping with the Dominican tradition, “educational experience … provide for the development and responsible use of human skills and talents in professional and social service. (Ohio Dominican University Mission). The ODU PA program will provide students with the capability to: 1. Provide quality, compassionate ethical healthcare services 2. Continue to develop as professionals through the Dominican motto: contemplare et contemplate aliis tradere (to contemplate truth and to share with others the fruits of this contemplation) 3. Be sensitive to individuals no matter the circumstance or background 4. Work collaboratively with other health care professionals 5. Become Leaders through continued knowledge, growth, research, publication and professional activity
