North Florida-South Georgia Veterans Health System – University of Florida Physician Assistant Residency in Primary Care
The North Florida-South Georgia Veterans Health System – University of Florida Physician Assistant Residency in Primary Care is a postgraduate training program that focuses on those areas of clinical practice that are integral for providing exemplary healthcare to the nation’s veterans. This 12-month program will expose trainees to a wide range of patients and their co-morbid medical and psychological diagnosis. PA residents will be offered a competitive stipend to participate first-hand in providing care in settings with remote and local access to electronic medical records as well as state of the art diagnostic equipment and specialists. This in-depth exposure to the VA hospital and care system is the best possible preparation for a career as a team member in the VA system.
Admission Requirements
In order to be admitted to this postgraduate program, applicants must be graduate of an ARC-PA accredited program, certified (or eligible for certification) by the National Commission on Certification or Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and be able to obtain a license to practice and prescribe as a PA in Florida.
Applicants must fill out and submit an application to include the following:
- Complete and signed copy of the application form
- Complete transcripts from PA training (to be sent from training institution)
- 3 letters of reference (including one from your program director)
- Current CV
- Official proof of NCCPA certification of eligibility
- Official proof of ACLS and BLS certification (if completed)
- Personal Statement
