Slippery Rock University PA Program Mission Statement

The program’s focus is to train and develop Physician Assistants with an emphasis on providing care to special populations. The program will aspire to instill lifelong learning skills while advancing the health needs of the region served by the University. Graduates will possess skills and leadership abilities to make a difference in the quality of life in the healthcare environment in which they will work.

• Minimum 16 hours of clinical shadowing within last 5 years with two different PA-Cs in two different areas of medicine (some in-person required). Also requires 100+ hours community service/service-learning.

EVALUATIONS

• 3 letters: 1 from a former college/university instructor, 1 from a supervisor of required healthcare/patient care experience, 1 character reference
