Illinois Bone and Joint Institute Park Ridge, IL 12 months 5 to 7 Students About IBJI’s Physician Assistant Program Illinois Bone and Joint Institute’s Physician Assistant (PA) program is sponsored by Rosalind Franklin University’s PA program. The residency takes place at Lutheran General Hospital and is directed by Dr. Matthew Jimenez and Dr. Patrick Knott. This program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 50 hours of clinical Category I (Preapproved) CME credit by the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Physician assistants should claim only those hours actually spent participating in the CME activity. The mission of the Touro College Physician Assistant Programs is to educate capable students to meet the challenges of providing health care services under the supervision of a licensed physician. The programs also strive to excel in the education and training of physician assistants who will serve the health care needs of the community with competence, compassion, and dedication. The program curriculum is designed to educate its graduates to function as traditionally-trained primary care providers who are able to provide care to patients in any number of specialties in hospital-based and private office settings, and to prepare graduates with the requisite medical knowledge to pass the national certifying examination. The curriculum is also formulated to sensitize the student to diverse patient populations and the impact of socioeconomic factors on health care and its availability. The Manhattan Campus PA Program offers non-traditional scheduling of classes. This has enabled the program to broaden access to PA education to persons who prefer a non-traditional schedule format because of family commitments or the need to work part-time to finance their education.

Regions Hospital St. Paul, MN 18 months 2 Students Welcome PA Resident Class of 2017 Welcome to the Regions Hospital Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant (EM PA) Residency. We are excited to offer the first EM PA residency program in Minnesota with the inaugural class in 2012. We are fortunate to be able to collaborate with a well established and highly competitive physician emergency medicine residency, which was established in 1996. Regions Hospital is a Level I Trauma and Burn Center and is the state’s first Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. The emergency medicine faculty are affiliated with the University of Minnesota and provide training for emergency medicine residents, rotating residents, and medical students. The PA staff provide training for PA students. The PA residents work alongside physician residents, study the core curriculum, and participate in weekly conferences in addition to their clinical rotation schedule.
