Admissions insights

What this program looks for in applicants

Rolling admissions; most qualified applicants invited to interview, then a cohort of 40 is selected. Selection reflects: academic background and potential (overall GPA >=3.2, science GPA >=3.0, prereqs with C or better completed within last 10 years); healthcare/work/volunteer experiences (min 400 PCE hours, 25 hrs PA shadowing recommended); leadership skills; and motivation, understanding of the PA profession/responsibilities, professional demeanor, and interpersonal/verbal skills. Three letters of recommendation required. Ranked wait list maintained. No advanced placement/waiver of coursework.

FROM THE ADMISSIONS TEAM

2026 PAEA Virtual Admissions Fair

The admissions team urged applicants who had not yet submitted to do so promptly, because interview days were already being scheduled — a useful reminder that a technically open deadline can still be functionally late. They described experience expectations that combine hands-on patient-care hours with broader healthcare-related experience, from either paid work or volunteering, and strongly recommended PA shadowing on top of that. They also indicated that documented academic progress after earlier struggles can be taken into account.
