The DeBakey Institute for Cardiovascular Education and Training (DICET) is the educational arm of the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center, offering comprehensive education in cardiovascular and vascular disease.

  • The Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship program is designed to complete the general cardiovascular training requirements for individuals interested in pursuing a career in clinical, academic or investigative cardiology. A strong clinical background and training experience are considered essential for each of these tracks.  Learn more.
  • The Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency Program is the first accredited integrated residency program in Texas. This six-year program (of which, one year is dedicated to research) is designed to provide incoming residents with the ability to diagnose and treat diseases of the arterial, venous and lymphatic systems.   • The Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program is a two-year vascular training program is designed to provide fellows with a broad base of knowledge and skills in all aspects of vascular surgery. Upon completion of the program, fellows will be proficient and knowledgeable in the indications and technical skills to perform procedures requiring traditional open and catheter-based technology.   • The Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program is a one-year ACGME-approved fellowship allows candidates to master the techniques involved in coronary intervention, while developing perspective on procedural risk and benefit, patient selection and clinical decision making in cardiovascular patient care.
