• Eligibility: PA-eligible, quoted verbatim from the programme’s own How to Apply page: “Applicants must document that they have successfully completed a Physician Assistant program that is ARC-PA accredited, or a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program accredited by AACN, ANCC or AANP (If still in training, must show the intention of being accredited at completion of degree).” Also: “Physician Assistant (PA): Must meet Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners requirements, including graduation from an accredited PA program and/or NCCPA certification.” Open to new graduates and practising APPs. • Setting & rotations: Academic tertiary-care centre. Medical ICU 2 months, Surgical and Neuroscience ICU 4 months, Cardiovascular ICU 2 months, plus palliative, OR airway/anesthesia, renal, ID, trauma surgery, toxicology and a required neurology/neuro-stroke block. Fellows train alongside physician critical care fellows and residents.

Not ARC-PA accredited. Active member program of APPAP (Association of Postgraduate PA Programs); most PA postgraduate programs are not ARC-PA accredited, and APPAP membership indicates a recognized, active program.
