Trauma and Critical Care Fellowship

Hello and welcome to the Intermountain Medical Center Postgraduate Fellowship for Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) in Trauma and Critical Care. We are proud to be the Western United States’ only state-of-the-art post-graduate training program for post-graduate nurse practitioners and physician assistants in Trauma and Critical Care. We operate out of one of two Level 1 Trauma Centers that service trauma patients in the Intermountain West. Our Fellowship provides a year-long training program with aggressive and ample access to patients of severe acuities and training in a Gold Standard Practice and Zero Harm environment. Our Fellows operate with very high levels of autonomy at the “tip of the spear” and edge of their practice, seeing patients in a collegial atmosphere and a practice that cultivates learning and rewards initiative.

Our year-long program puts our Fellows into the deepest ends of customizable clinical scenarios within Trauma, Critical Care, Pulmonary Critical Care, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Emergency, Anesthesia, Interventional Radiology, and Pharmacology. Fellows are put in the forefront of direct resuscitation and diagnoses of the sickest of trauma patients in an environment that teaches to be efficient, compassionate, and precise.

At the end of this rigorous year, our Fellows feel well prepared and have gone on to staff world-renowned trauma centers with skills sets in deep pathophysiology, invasive and non-invasive bedside procedures, harm prevention, leadership, and research methods and topics within Trauma and Critical Care.
